Will it delete something I need?

It only deletes what you select, after you review the list. Files go to the Trash, so you can restore them. Code, .git folders, keys and passwords are never touched.

Why not just use rm -rf?

For one folder, that is fine. DiskMac helps when you have dozens and don’t know which ones are safe to delete.

Is it a subscription?

No. $9 once (plus tax) for two Macs, and it never expires. Scanning is always free.

Does my data leave my Mac?

No. There is no account, no tracking and no analytics. The app only goes online to check your licence key, and only if you bought one.

How long does a scan take?

Usually under a minute. On our Mac it scanned 72 projects in 39 seconds, and a 109 GB home folder with 1.6 million files in 35 seconds.

Is it a real Mac app?

Yes. It is built in Swift, not Electron, and is only 2.1 MB. It is signed and notarised by Apple, so it opens without warnings. Needs macOS 13 or later, on Apple silicon or Intel.
